We are seeking consistency most of the time. We want an end to this or that (forever) or we want happiness to be permanent, we want peace permanently, we want it forever.

All that appears in life is fleeting, all appearances (everything you can own, do, sense, think and feel, all identities) come and go, including the sense and experience of being a separate individual… this comes and goes too… throughout the day, throughout life and eventually when the body dies, this sense of being a separate individual disappears.

Everything that appears here appears, exists for a time and then disappears. It is the breathing in and breathing out of the universe, it is the leaving home, the roaming of the world and the return home, the rhythm of life itself.

What does not come and go is life itself, is being, is wholeness, oneness, consciousness, call it what you will.

The only consistency in life is inconsistency. The only constant is the inconstant, the only thing that is permanent is impermanence. The only thing to rely on is the fact that nothing can be relied upon.

Every ‘thing’ in life is temporary, all appearances come and go… all states are passing, all structures unstable, everything is subject to change.

All appearances appear out of ‘no thing’ out of emptiness… being itself is not a thing, not a state, not a quality… being is nothing, being everything. Life is nothing being everything. The essence of life IS nothing, is the emptiness out of which all appearances are born and back into which all appearance return.

You ARE that nothingness, you ARE that being, that consciousness… and so there is no possibility that you can have any ‘thing’ forever… because what you ARE is forever… you are the eternal, you are the infinite… you are the nothing which is everything.

This is the nothing you can rely on, the nothing which is pregnant with the potential for all things.

You long for consistency, long to have it… yet you cannot have what you are. You can only be it. You ARE that consistency, you are that which does not change.

The only constant is being… and you are that, always have been and always will be. Forever and ever.
